How could you start a private network for your computers at home without getting another ethernet cable?

If I had lots of computers and laptops laying around in my house and they’re all on the internet, how can I start a private network with each? I don’t have any extra ethernet cables either. I have the new AT&T internet and a couple spare old modems. Can I use those to start a private network just by switching the ethernet cables?

From all PCs an Ethernet cable goes into a router. From the router one cable goes into the modem. When the router has no switch functionality then you must attach all the Ethernet cables from the PCs into a switch in order to make the PCs reachable for each other. The switch is connected to the router (with an Ethernet cable). The router distributes the internet traffic from and to the right computer in your home.

a hub will do it there cheap any computer store about 25.00 and then run the network setup and use a key drive or cd to copy the profile to all computers
